DURING THESE DARK AND TRYING TIMES IN OUR WORLD IT IS DIFFICULT FOR US NOT TO BECOME DISCOURAGED ..... BECAUSE OF WHAT WE HEAR AND SEE ON THE DAILY NEWS WE MAY BE FEELING THIS WAY MORE THAN NOT ..... TWO THINGS WE ALL COULD USE TODAY ARE ENCOURAGEMENT AND HOPE ..... GOD HAS SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT EACH ONE IN HIS BIBLE
..... IN THE OLD TESTAMENT GOD SPEAKS TO US WHEN HE SAYS : "Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth ; meditate on it day and night , so that you may be careful to do everything written in it . Then you will be prosperous and successful . Have I not commanded you ? Be strong and courageous . Do not be terrified ; do not be discouraged , for the LORD your GOD will be with you wherever you go . " JOSHUA 1:9 ..... JOSHUA CONQUERED THE ENEMY AND SUCCESSFULLY GAINED THE PROMISED LAND NOT BECAUSE OF ANY FANCY STRATEGIES OR " STATE OF THE ART " WEAPONRY ..... THE REASON FOR HIS SUCCESS WAS OBEDIENCE TO GOD AND CONSISTENT MEDITATION ON GODS LAW ..... BECAUSE OUR GOD IS THE SAME YESTERDAY , TODAY AND TOMORROW WE HAVE MUCH TO GAIN FROM THIS ADVICE MENTIONED ABOVE , EVEN IN TODAY'S MODERN WORLD .....WHEN WE ARE DISCOURAGED IT CAN BRING ABOUT FEELINGS OF HOPELESSNESS ..... WHEN THE
DRUDGERY OF LIFE'S DAILY BATTLES ARE CAST UPON US IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO LOOK AHEAD AND SEE BRIGHTER DAY ..... OUR GOD , IN HEBREW HIS NAME IS TRANSLATED AS ELOHIM-YACHEL , IS THE " GOD OF HOPE " ..... HE DOES NOT WANT US TO SULK OR GIVE UP..... WHEN WE STUDY THE BOOK OF ROMANS CHAPTER 15 VERSE 13 SPEAKS VOLUMES AS IT SAYS , " May the GOD of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in HIM , so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT . " ..... WHETHER WE ARE FACING A TIME OF DISCOURAGEMENT OR A SEASON OF HOPELESSNESS ,
OUR INSTRUCTIONS FOR TODAY ARE BEST TAKEN FROM THE BIBLE .....HERE WE FIND THESE WORDS NOT ONLY FLAWLESS AND TRUTHFUL BUT LIFE CHANGING AS WELL....................................SUMMER
Thanks for the good reminder, Summer...we all need it!
ReplyDeleteHi Donna , When I began posting yesterday morning I was assuming that it would be about the total devastion that our neighbors in Japan are up against however to say the least , the post did not present itself ....I am so saddened by what happened there and pray for the people of Japan.... For their needs to be met physically , emotionally and most of all spiritually that JEHOVAH GOD will fill there hearts ....May our day be filled with gratitude
ReplyDeleteand unconditional love .
Great post Summer! I join you in prayer for the people of Japan. My heart aches for them. I do pray for not only their physical needs, but also that the gospel to be known to all. Thanks for stopping by today!
ReplyDeleteHi Summer,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me today and commenting on my post.
Hi Summer! I loved this post. "Hope" is one of my favorite topics...don't you just FEAST on that Scripture where it says that Father Abraham "against hope believed, in hope". Michael Card wrote an amazing song about hope, years ago...
ReplyDeleteGrace and peace to you today and this week!
Sheila , It is always amazing to read about the prophets and how they walked by faith and had the kind of hope we can only pray that we have in our daily walk through life ....I enjoy posting as it a stress reliever and hopefully and prayerfully someone , somewhere will be inspired to carry on because of the words posted ....You have a great day and as always its a pleasure to see you visiting ....
ReplyDeleteI am still heartbroken about what the people of Japan have gone through and continue to endure as well other parts of the world in war and other disasters. So sad...
ReplyDeleteWonderful post, Summer!
Blessings & Hugs,
Coreen XOXO
Sometimes its hard to believe that these people are going through this ....I pray a lot for GOD to over see the entire process ....Prayerfully the people of Japan will recover someday ....I think of the scripture in isaiah 61:1-3 where the LORD restores besuty for ashes ....When we go to GOD with a sincere and genuine heart HE can restore our hurts ....Maybe not immediately and not exactly the way we want but JESUS can and will work HIS plan into peoples lives even after disasters such as this ....Thank you for visiting and I must say your site is an
ReplyDeleteinspirational place .
